Embed

Embed video anywhere with your own branding.

A video player for your own website: your name on it, no suggested videos after it, no YouTube or Vimeo logo, and the file served from the same library your clients are delivered from.

Selected work

The player sits in your page, under your name, with nothing after it but your own site.

A free player costs you the viewer. Yours keeps them.

A YouTube embed ends on a grid of other people's videos and carries its logo the whole way through. A viewer who came to your site for your work is handed a reason to leave it.

An FRGMT embed plays the video and stops. The only name on the player is yours, the controls are the ones you chose, and when it ends the viewer is still on your page.

Player

Every setting, set once per video.

  • Autoplay, loop, mute, controlsAutoplay, loop, mute, controls: each is its own setting. Browsers only autoplay video that starts muted, so pair autoplay with mute for a silent header.
  • Controls that get out of the wayReactive shows the controls until playback starts and brings them back when the pointer moves. Standard keeps them up. None leaves a click to play and pause.
  • Your name, or nothingShow your logo and studio name, the logo alone, the name alone, or no identity at all, with your own accent color on the play button and progress bar.
  • Your choice of stillPick a frame from the video or upload an image to show before it plays.

Placement

Paste it anywhere a page takes code.

  • One snippetCopy the code and paste it into WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow, Wix or plain HTML. The box keeps the video’s own shape, so a vertical or wide video is never letterboxed.
  • WordPress pastes the linkPaste the embed’s link on its own line in WordPress and it becomes the player, with no code at all.
  • A link of its ownEvery embed also has a plain link that opens the player on a page of its own, for an email or a message.

Access

Private-by-link video hosting

  • Allowed domainsList the sites the player may appear on. Anywhere else, the browser refuses to show it.
  • PasswordA pitch video for one client can ask for a password before it plays.
  • ExpirySet a date and the embed stops playing after it, wherever it was pasted.

Analytics

See where viewers stop.

  • Plays and impressionsHow many times the player loaded, and how many times someone pressed play.
  • Drop-offHow far through the video viewers get, in tenths, so you can see where the edit loses them.
  • Top referrersThe sites the player was watched on, so you know which page is doing the work.

Library

The embed is a view of the file you already deliver.

An embed points at a video in your library, the same file a client video page or a review link plays. Settings change in the editor and reach every site the code is pasted on, with nothing to paste again.

Questions

Embedding video, answered.

How do I put a video on my website without YouTube?

Host the video on a platform built for delivery rather than for an audience, then paste its embed snippet into your site, so the player shows only your work with no YouTube or Vimeo logo, no title bar and no suggested videos pulling the visitor somewhere else. FRGMT embeds come from the file already in your library.

How do I stop suggested videos in a YouTube embed?

You cannot switch them off entirely: since 2018 YouTube’s player still offers related videos at the end, limited to the same channel at best, so the only way to show none is to embed from a host that does not recommend anything at all. A FRGMT embed ends on your video and stops there.

How do I embed a video in WordPress?

Paste the video’s embed link on its own line in a post or page, and WordPress turns it into a player automatically through oEmbed, with no plugin and no code, as long as the host supports oEmbed the way FRGMT does. You can still use the iframe snippet in a Custom HTML block for full control.

How do I embed a video on Squarespace, Webflow or Wix?

Add a code or embed block to the page and paste the iframe snippet from your video host into it, then publish, and the player appears at the width of the block and keeps the video’s real proportions on phones as well as on desktop screens. The snippet is the same on every site builder.

Can an embedded video autoplay?

Yes, but only muted: browsers block autoplay with sound, so a video set to autoplay has to start silent, which suits a looping header or a background reel and does not suit a piece that needs its audio from the first second. In FRGMT, set autoplay and mute together for a looping header.

What should video player analytics show?

More than plays: a drop-off view showing how much of the audience is still watching at each point tells you whether the opening holds people, which a single view count cannot, and it shows where to cut a long reel before it goes on the homepage. Each FRGMT embed reports plays and drop-off by tenth of the video.
